Engineering Collaboration in Action
Our first interactive session, led by Graeme Crombie, brought an energetic focus to collaboration through the lens of structural engineering. Teams from across the business worked together on practical challenges, with our civil and structural engineering colleagues leading the charge.
A special thank you to our expert judges — Paul Macintyre, Kirsten Paxton, George Appiah and Daniel Kumah — for guiding the session and sharing their insights.
Insights from SEPA: Protecting Scotland’s Environment
We were honoured to welcome Nicole Paterson, Chief Executive of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), who shared an update on SEPA’s work to safeguard Scotland’s environment and human health. Nicole also took questions from our team, offering thoughtful perspectives on regulation, environmental protection and the future of Scotland’s natural assets.
We are grateful for her time and generosity.
Founders’ Reflections: The Stories Behind Mabbett and IKM
In the afternoon, we heard from Arthur N. Mabbett and Ian Maclachlan EUR ING, BSc CEng FICE, MIHT, MEI, who reflected on the origins, challenges and successes of Mabbett Ltd and IKM Consulting. Their stories highlighted the values, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to live on in Arthian today.
Looking Ahead: Our Three‑Year Plan
Our Cluster and Group Leads closed the day by sharing their perspectives on Arthian’s three‑year plan and the evolving service portfolio we will deliver for clients. The message was clear: growth is our currency of progress, and collaboration is the engine that will drive it.
