About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Working in, and continuing to grow, a strong team
- Collaborating with internal and external clients and supply chain
- Contribute to the technical delivery of geotechnical engineering projects, including investigation and reporting, temporary works and construction support, specialist services such as peat surveys and stability assessments and slope stability assessment and subsequent designs
- Provide clients with best-value construction support and engineering problem-solving across a wide range of sectors
- Act as a client-facing representative, supporting and leading bids and tenders and identifying new opportunities - particularly within construction, energy, property, industrial and manufacturing
- Manage site investigations and work and design projects, ensuring financial, technical and environmental quality and safety
- Support and develop team members, inspiring high performance and professional growth
- Any other appropriate tasks
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Drive and ambition to succeed and support the business do the same
- Relevant experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects and tasks
- Experience in an engineering consultancy, with particular expertise in geotechnical engineering, commensurate with level
- Demonstrable technical excellence in geotechnical design and assessment
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and guidance relating to geotechnical assessment and design
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) including production of clear and precise technical reports and effective presentation of findings/recommendations
- People management and staff mentoring experience beneficial
- Can work to tight timescales and manage multiple projects at once
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Working towards, or holding, chartered membership of ICE, or evidence of equivalent experience and capability
Additional Information
- The role may require travel (including occasional overnight stays) across the UK and overseas, depending on project requirements
- A full clean driving licence is desirable
