    Is CCS suitable for small or medium-sized emitters?

    Yes. While CCS is often associated with large industrial sites, smaller emitters can benefit through shared infrastructure or cluster-based approaches.

    How safe is underground CO₂ storage?

    Very safe. CO₂ is stored in deep geological formations under multiple layers of impermeable rock. Sites are carefully selected, monitored, and regulated.

    Can CCS be combined with other decarbonisation measures?

    Absolutely. CCS can complement energy efficiency, fuel switching, and electrification—especially where process emissions are unavoidable.

    What’s the difference between CCS and CCUS?

    CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage) includes the use of captured CO₂ in products like concrete or fuels. CCS focuses solely on permanent storage.

    Is funding available for CCS projects?
