Principal Civil Engineer
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to project manage and work on some exciting projects in sectors such as Energy, Petrochemicals, Manufacturing and Distilling. They will have expertise in Civil Engineering including drainage, linear infrastructure and pavement engineering.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Civil Engineer to join our Civil & Structural Engineering Group. The successful candidate will join the CSE management team and support our continued growth in the UK. We have offices located throughout the UK and embrace hybrid / remote working to support our staff’s personal circumstances.
This role requires a Principal with strong technical expertise combined with exceptional leadership, communication, and management skills and a proven ability to take ownership of and deliver complex engineering projects.
This is a Principal role, and the successful candidate will enjoy the challenge of having technical autonomy on a wide range of projects within a fast paced and growing Civil & Structural Engineering team. The role will entail:
- Client facing, with comfort leading bids and tenders, and exploring new opportunities.
- Understand the development needs of team members and inspire them to perform at their best.
- Liaise with our multidisciplinary groups and teams to provide our clients with a fully integrated approach to projects.
- Ownership of project delivery regarding:
- – client liaison
– technical compliance
– budget and project management
– commercial management
– risk management.
The position may require occasional travel (including overnight stays) in the U.K. and overseas depending on project requirements. Company pool cars are available for business travel – a full U.K. driving licence with clean driver record is required as well as a valid passport and photo ID is required for air travel. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.K.
Qualifications
- You will hold a BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree to the role, experience and skills.
- You will be a Chartered Member of ICE, or as a minimum, demonstrably working towards chartership.
