Team Lead – Geosciences
We are seeking to hire an experienced geo-environmental professional to lead and grow our Geosciences Team in Manchester. The role focuses on team leadership, project oversight, mentoring junior staff, and technical delivery in land development and site investigation work. The position would be suited for candidates looking to progress their career to the next level and who possess a keen drive to lead and support the growth of our business.
- Lead and develop a Manchester-based team
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Oversee project planning, quality assurance of reports, and site investigations
- Engage in client and contractor communication
- Manage project timelines and budgets
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold:
- a BSc, BEng, or MSc/MEng in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Earth Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or other relevant discipline.
- Chartered Scientist/Geologist/Environmentalist status, or you should be on track to achieve this status.
Experience and Skills
- Strong UK geo-environmental consultancy experience
- Proven skills in team leadership, project management, client liaison, and report writing
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical engineering solutions.
- Drive to support UK-wide client base and work alongside our existing team including reporting to the Geosciences Manager
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage and mentor junior colleagues.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales and budgets are met
- Responsible for your own personal development and be able to support the learning of others.

Some travel is involved, for which a company pool car is available and for which a clean, valid UK driving licence will be required. Occasionally travel by air will be required, for which a valid passport and photo ID is needed.
