Arthian Ltd is a full-service planning, design, environment, engineering, safety consultancy, and training firm.
Arthian Ltd is committed to the continual improvement of health and safety and to the prevention of injury and ill health at work.
In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, Section 2.3, the following Health and Safety Policy has been established for all staff employed at Arthian offices in the UK and Ireland.
General Statement of Policy

Arthian Ltd is committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health, and to considering worker wellness and wellbeing.

The company is committed to eliminating hazards and reducing occupational health and safety risks through the hierarchy of control.

Arthian Ltd promotes consultation and participation with workers and, where applicable, their representatives.

As far as is reasonably practicable, Arthian Ltd will provide and maintain a high standard of safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work.
Workers will receive appropriate information, instruction, training, and supervision to safely undertake required tasks.
The company also recognises its responsibility for the health and safety of clients, visitors, and any other persons who may be affected by its activities.

Arthian Ltd will comply with Government Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs), and industry guidance as the minimum standard for workplace safety, striving to exceed these standards wherever feasible.

Health and safety are primary management priorities. Arthian Ltd recognises that there are tangible economic and humanitarian benefits in fostering a positive safety culture and is committed to continual improvement to reduce ill health, prevent injuries, and minimise losses.

The company complies with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 by conducting and recording risk assessments and implementing requirements under other related legislation, including:

Regular Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) of electrical equipment.

Maintenance of fire safety and emergency procedures.

Arthian Ltd establishes annual health and safety objectives and targets, reviewed at least once a year during management review meetings or upon significant business changes.

The Health and Safety Law Poster, summarising the principal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, is displayed in all offices.
Safety Organisation and Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for health and safety rests with the Chairman, Roy MacGregor.

Routine and day-to-day operations are the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer, Derek J. McNab.

Omar Khalid is delegated as the Company Health & Safety Representative.
Designated workers are trained as First Aiders and Mental Health First Aiders, and their names are published on the company intranet.

In workplaces under its control, Arthian Ltd assigns staff to conduct fire checks and coordinate evacuations during emergency situations.

All workers are made aware of their duties to take reasonable care for their own health and safety, as well as that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
These responsibilities are emphasised during induction, and employees are expected to cooperate with Arthian Ltd in fulfilling its statutory obligations.

Everyone engaged in Arthian Ltd activities is encouraged to exercise responsibility and care in preventing injury and ill health to themselves and others at work.

This Policy is kept up to date and reviewed regularly by management and the company Health and Safety Representative to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
