Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
Arthian Limited (the Group) recognises that we must integrate our business values and operations to meet the expectations of our stakeholders.
These include our customers, employees, investors, suppliers, the community, and the environment.
Commitment Overview
-
We recognise that our social, economic, and environmental responsibilities to these stakeholders are integral to our business. We aim to demonstrate these responsibilities through our actions and within our corporate policies.
-
We take seriously all feedback received from our stakeholders and, where possible, maintain open dialogue to ensure we fulfil the requirements of this policy.
-
We are open and honest in communicating our strategies, targets, performance, and governance to our stakeholders, in continual commitment to sustainable development.
-
The Group People & Culture Director is responsible for implementing this policy and allocating the necessary resources to realise our corporate responsibilities.
Responsibility for performance against this policy rests with all employees throughout the Group.
1. Partnership Focus
We will ensure a high level of business performance while effectively managing risk and upholding honesty, partnership, and fairness in our relationships with all stakeholders.
We support the development of external stakeholders by leading training courses and providing our facilities for clients to hold industry meetings.
Contracts will clearly set out agreed terms, conditions, and the basis of relationships, operating in a way that safeguards against unfair practices.
We will encourage suppliers and contractors to adopt responsible business policies and practices and maintain open dialogue with local communities for mutual benefit.
Customer complaints will be registered and resolved in accordance with our service standards.
We support and encourage employees to contribute to local community organisations and activities, especially through employee-chosen charities.
We work with schools, colleges, and universities to assist young people in exploring careers and promote our industry.
We operate an equal opportunities policy for all employees and applicants, offering fair terms of employment and resources for continual development.
We maintain a clear and fair remuneration policy and provide forums for employee consultation and engagement.
Safeguards ensure that all employees, regardless of nationality, race, religion, or belief, are treated with respect and without sexual, physical, or mental harassment.
We provide and maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment in line with our Health and Safety Policy.
We also encourage active participation in our Environmental Policies and Objectives.
2. Ethical Trading Initiative
2.1 Employment is Freely Chosen
All employees undertake work with Arthian voluntarily.
Employment conditions comply fully with statutory requirements in each country of operation.
If non-national labour is employed, valid visas or work permits are always obtained and retained on file.
Employees are free to leave their employment after providing contractual notice.
2.2 Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
Workers are free to join recognised trade unions if they wish.
Non-union representatives are encouraged to communicate or negotiate on behalf of employees and will not face discrimination.
The Group recognises the freedom of association for all groups of labour it employs.
3. Safe and Hygienic Working Conditions
A safe and hygienic work environment will be provided, considering industry standards and known hazards.
Reasonable steps will be taken to prevent accidents and injury by minimising inherent risks.
Workers will receive regular, recorded health and safety training, including induction for new or reassigned staff.
Clean toilet facilities, potable water, and appropriate food storage areas will be provided.
Where accommodation is offered, it will be clean, safe, and meet basic needs.
Responsibility for health and safety rests with a designated senior management representative.
4. Child Labour
No new recruitment of child labour shall occur.
The Group supports policies that transition any child found performing labour into quality education until adulthood.
Children and young persons under 18 shall not be employed at night or in hazardous conditions.
All procedures comply with International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards.
5. Living Wages
Wages and benefits for a standard workweek meet or exceed legal or industry benchmarks β whichever is higher.

Employees receive written, understandable information about their wages before employment and with each payment.
Unlawful deductions or disciplinary wage penalties are prohibited.
All disciplinary measures are recorded.
6. Working Hours
Working hours must comply with national law or collective agreements, whichever provides greater protection.
Standard hours are defined by contract; overtime must be voluntary and pre-approved.
Total weekly hours exceeding 60 are only permissible when allowed by law, agreed with employees, and safeguarded for health and safety.
Where extra overtime is undertaken, compensatory rest will be provided as required by national law.
7. Non-Discrimination
There shall be no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination, or retirement based on race, caste, nationality, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership, or political affiliation.

Work will be based on recognised employment relationships established through law and practice.
Obligations under labour or social security law will not be avoided through labour-only contracting, excessive use of fixed-term contracts, or false apprenticeship schemes.
9. Humane Treatment
Physical abuse, threats, harassment, or verbal intimidation are strictly prohibited.
This code sets minimum standards that Arthian may exceed, ensuring compliance with national and international laws.
Where local law and the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code overlap, the higher standard shall prevail.
