This course provides a step-by-step guide and practical training in the implementation of an EMS.

Overview

This course includes references to management standards such as ISO 14001:2015 and EMAS, but also includes references to other relevant standards such as BS 8555. It equips learners with the skills to design and implement an EMS within their organisation’s existing management structure, allowing them to use the EMS to address their specific needs – maximising the efficacy of the EMS.

Course Delivery

The course will be delivered over 3 full days (7 hours) and can be delivered virtually or in-house. All delegates will be issued a certificate upon completion of this EMS Implementation course. Assessments can be provided within this course and delivered as an IEMA-certified course for delegates.

Who is it for?

Anyone whose job role requires them to have a practical understanding of and ability to implement,an EMS.

On successful completion of this course, delegates will:

  • Define the environment and understand key global environmental issues (Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss, Resource Depletion, Pollution)
  • Understand how these key global environmental issues could relate to you and your organisation
  • Understand the drivers for environmental management and how these apply to you and your organisation (drivers include: Policy, Legislation, Finances, Customer Perceptions)
  • Ensure that your organisation is considering all aspects of environmental management and identifying opportunities for environmental improvement
  • Support and motivate colleagues in the workplace to ensure that environmental initiatives are given full support to help ensure maximum benefit
  • Have the confidence to take environmental initiatives further.
