Arthian Spotlight: Antony Price

15th August 2025

Our Arthian Spotlight series showcases our technical experts around the UK. This week, we are spotlighting a new team member, Antony Price, Principal Arboriculture and Forestry.

Antony is a Professional Member of the Arboricultural Association and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. He brings three decades of experience in arboriculture, spanning both education and consultancy. He is an approved instructor and assessor for arboriculture and forestry land-based skills with Lantra Awards and City & Guilds.

As an independent consultant, Antony has carried out tree condition and risk assessments, BS5837 impact surveys, and developed tree policies, risk management strategies, and protection measures.

In conversation with Antony:

Your favourite type of project to work on that is relevant to your role at Arthian?

I enjoy projects that champion trees within the design process through tailored strategies and policies, guided by BS3998, BS5837, BS8545, and other key standards. Working collaboratively with trusted specialists from multidisciplinary teams, I focus on advancing arboricultural approaches that enhance diverse projects and support the creation of resilient treescapes.

What career advice would you give?

Invest in yourself and those around you. A team rooted in collaboration grows stronger than any lone branch. Never stop learning. Arboriculture thrives when shared, studied, and supported. As the old English saying goes, “Tall trees from little acorns grow”. Let’s raise the canopy together.

Short comment on joining the Arthian team

Joining the Arthian team has been a rewarding step. I’ve been impressed by their support and commitment to sustainable practicality. Their mission aligns with mine, and I look forward to advancing quality tree care across the UK and Ireland.
